Yandex launches own messenger with chats, channel subscriptions

MOSCOW, Apr 22 (PRIME) -- Russian tech giant Yandex has launched a full-fledged messenger where users can exchange text and audio messages, create chats, and subscribe for channels, the company said on Wednesday in a statement.

The messenger replaces Yandex.Chats where people discuss news with neighbors in service District, contact stores on Market or communicate in other services by Yandex.

“Now (the messenger) has everything for communication: chats and video calls, voice messages with textual decoding, channels of popular media and an option to share content,” the company said.

The messenger is available on the home screen of Yandex’s mobile application, in the desktop browser, on yandex.ru, and as an individual application.
